When we bring shadows into the light, they integrate.
They become one with the light.
When we make the subconscious material inside of us conscious, we become more free. What was once unknown, in the dark, dictating our lives, now sees the light of day. We recover autonomy and life force.
Today is Rosh Chodesh Kislev, the new moon of the Jewish month of light.
One candle can dispel a lot of darkness.
When we shine the light on our shadows, on the parts of ourselves that we don't yet know, or are painful, or unconscious- not yet even in our awareness, we aren't creating more darkness (as our psyche can sometimes feel) but actually dispelling the darkness. A shadow melts back into light as soon as the light of awareness is shined upon it
As soon as our unconscious material is made conscious it is freed to return to its source, to essence, to love and to nothingness.
What happens to a shadow when it gets fully light out? It disappears fully into the light. It is consumed by the light.
Happy Kislev, Happy month of light.
May the light of awareness shine on all living things
And may we all remember that shadows too are light, not yet loved and integrated back to the Source. All we need is one candle, just one lit candle.
"Brent, lichtalach, Brent
Burn, candles, burn
Burn for a long time..."
