There are times to produce and times to plant roots.
There are seasons to create and seasons to rest.
There are times of contraction and times of expansion.
There are seasons of questions and seasons of answers.
Life is a cyclical, spiraling experience
What goes around, comes around.
When we accept the cycles, we learn Grace, and Peace
What goes down, always goes up,
And what goes up, always goes down.
There's a season for everything
Nothing is ever forever
We live in a cyclical life, especially as women
And truly, everyone.
Cycles, seasons, rhythms
Within each day, moment, week, month, year
It's not always the time to produce, create, take up space
It's not always time to rest, be still, be inward
There are times for everything
There's a misconception I hear from individuals on their healing journey, or from successful entrepreneurs, or from parents of children - If I was doing it "right" I would always be busy, husting, healthy, wealthy, happy, doing, creating, producing, calm... etc.
No. We can not control the cycles and seasons, but we can be responsible to our response to them. Believing we can control the cycles of life through shifting our energy is like believing we can control the weather if we just had inner peace. Inner peace allows us to be with what is, and seasons are part of what is.
It is a disservice in the healing world and in the business world, (both spaces that I work in) to sell/tell people the idea that it will always be expansive as they heal/create. No. Contractions are part of life, but the resistance to the fact that they exist makes it that every time they come there's a resistance, a struggle, a "didn't I heal from this in my last healing journey/coaching session/ceremony?"
What healing and success in business and parenting and everything else means to me is the ability to be with what is with grace, and to learn to surrender more and more deeply each day to the inevitable mystery and unknown of all of the cycles and seasons that each moment brings. Because life is a lot less about what happens and a lot more about what happens inside of us.
Between stimulus and response there is a choice- as we heal and expand our capacities and windows of tolerance for all of life, success is inevitable- it's just that the definition of success can be redefined now: to begin with what is, when it is.
(And the funny and ironic thing is, when we expand our nervous systems capacity to hold more of life's cycles, we are also expanding our capacity to receive more of life's bounty, joy, abundance, and possibility.)
