Embracing Slowness

Sep 11, 2024

Slowness is a luxurious layer to life, that can be yours.

Sometimes we move quickly to avoid discomfort.
Sometimes we move quickly because that's how we have been programmed, Sometimes we move quickly to follow the rhythm of the society we are a part of.
Sometimes we move quickly because its all we know is possible for us.

Each of us has our own internal rhythm, dictated by our own soul's song, our own unique frequency, nature, and the cosmos.

The way we recover our unique rhythm is by slowing down enough to notice how we really feel inside, deep in our heart, our bellies, our wombs, our roots.
Slowing down to hear, to see, to know, to feel.

Slowing down requires practicing, presence, and owning parts of ourselves.
Taking that pause before we speak or act, breathing more, noticing more, feeling our feelings to the bottom of them, noticing if we are moving with or against the current of life.

Slowness asks and invites for gentleness, softness, reverence, honoring.
It asks for us to Be with.
Less fixing, to get THERE.
More Being, to be HERE.

Slowness takes practice and
compassion. It invites us into a life of luxury. Not outside luxury, but a life where you are the luxurious, precious, sacred, thing you are living for, and you know it down to your bones.

A tip for moving closer to slowness, if your soul desires that:
Slowness doesn't need to be "all or nothing."
Even within the quickness of your day, you can try to move more slowly inside of micro moments.
Stretching out of bed, instead of jumping out of bed, looking at the sky and taking a breath when you leave your home in the morning, notice a bit more of your five senses, orienting just a little more to spaces around you.

It's safe and more than okay to move slowly towards slowness.

It's more than okay if moving towards slowness is slow too. Barring a physical emergency, Urgency is always the old story.
Take your time and space to learn about time and space again.
The reason why slowness is the antidote to trauma, and why it can be difficult for the traumatized individual is because trauma is something that happened "too much, too fast." Trauma is always a breach of time and space/boundaries.

Coming back into wholeness and healing trauma means coming back into a more natural, organized way of living.

And that takes time and space/boundaries to create.

(Slowness is always our true nature, the dimension of slowness is the dimension of presence, and the heart space.)
