What is a defense mechanism? (in the way I understand and define them), how to "de-shame" our healing process (yes even healing can be the same shaming cycle in a different, more sophisticated costume if we aren't aware of it)

We spoke about how and why shame plays such a big role in the healing process, and what common subconscious defenses affect leaders. We also spoke about why urgency (a common thing for creators, leaders, and people in general) is always, always a defense mechanism/the old story and how to work with it.
