Our competence as therapists, healers, guides, coaches does not come from the modalities we learn, the intellectual information we take in, the books we read, or the case studies we watch. Those things add to our competence, but do not create it.

Our competence comes from our capacity for presence and being with each moment, in a way that is soft and solid, first and foremost with ourselves, as well as with our clients.

The most important thing as a practitioner is to learn to be in a field of resonance with Self, so we can be in resonance with our clients.

We access this field of resonance with Self when we slow down with honesty about where our own nervous system, body, system, psyche, suppression, shame, joy, aliveness, heart and feelings are at.

Your competence as a practitioner lies in your capacity for presence with other, and your capacity for presence with other lies inside of your capacity for presence with Self.

And when that resonance is in space with you, the books and courses and teachings all have a place to land inside of the field, and build on the competence that's already there.

That's beautiful mastery from an embodied place.
