Try and move slowly, even within the quickness and busyness of your day. Stretch out of bed instead of jumping out, slowly drink your water instead of gulping it. Smooth your hair with your hands and feel it before brushing. Take an extra moment to look in the mirror when you brush your teeth. Feel your feet on the ground when you walk to your job. Feel the water on your hands as you wash a vegetable for your salad.
Take an extra breath and moment to sit and be in between clients or appointments. Notice something you love about your child as they burst through the door. "Put" dinner together, instead of "throwing it together." Be just a bit more intentional about your phone use. Do a little more noticing of your five senses. Orient to the spaces you are in. Notice how your clothes feel on your body.
Even within quickness, you can allow your nervous system to re-calibrate by finding and being inside of moments with slowness and intentionality. It takes not much more time, and saves so much precious life force energy.
